Our History Annual Report Corporate NewsletterThe Rekai Centre at Sherbourne Place exudes warmth within the walls of this intimate 126 bed long term care home located directly across the road from Allen’s Garden. There are 5 private rooms with the remainder being a mix of semi-privates (2 persons to a room) and 4 person rooms. Sherbourne Place also provides 6 beds for residents requiring peritoneal dialysis care in collaboration with St. Michael’s Hospital.
More Info Monthly Calendar Monthly NewsletterSituated on the site of the former Wellesley Hospital, the Rekai Centre at Wellesley Central Place opened its doors in 2005 and is home to 150 residents. The resident rooms all feature natural light, and are bright, clean and spacious. All bedrooms are private with either a private bathroom or a shared bathroom depending on the preference of the resident.

24 Hour Nursing Care lead by our RN's, RPN's and PSW's. Medical Care available seven days a week. Personal hygiene items such as: Skin care lotion, deodorant, wash cloths, toothpaste, toothbrushes.
We are committed to enhancing the life of our residents by improving their sense of dignity, promoting independence, improving their functional abilities and preventing isolation.
Certain services for residents of Long Term Care homes are subject to charges above the amount of the monthly accomodation rate. These services are called "Uninsured Services".
Our care teams at The Rekai Centres have committed themselves in promoting Palliative Care and Pain Management, during and at the "End of Life" for all our residents.
The Snoezelen room is designed to deliver stimuli to varous senses, using light effects, colour, sounds, textures, music and varous scents. It is specially designed to reduce anxiety/pain and other behavioural issues that are common in Long Term Care.
The Rekai Centres have adopted a policy of “least restraint”. Physical restraints are to be the absolute and final solution after all other methods to control behaviours have been exhausted.
The rates for The Rekai Centre at Sherbourne Place and The Rekai Centre at Wellesley Central Place are set annually by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. These rates are the same for all long term care homes in Ontario.
They are based on adjustments in the payment entitlement of Old Age Security (OAS), Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) and the Guaranteed Annual Income Supplement.
Short Term Stay AccommodationWe recognize that selecting a long term care home for your loved one is a difficult and time consuming process. To assist you in ensuring you make the best possible decision for your loved one, we offer tours so that you can see the home and meet the other residents as well as the staff.
Tours are offered at both the Rekai Centre at Sherbourne Place and the Rekai Centre at Wellesley Central Place.
